ABOUT

Wellness

Meet Dr. Stewart

I’m Dr. Stephanie Michael Stewart, a holistic psychiatrist committed to reimagining mental health care through a spiritual, environmental, and social justice lens. I believe healing is more than just treating symptoms; it’s about honoring the whole person. My approach blends evidence-based psychiatry with complementary therapies, Indigenous wisdom, and ecological medicine, creating a path to wellness that feels deeply personal and aligned.

After serving as Chief Resident at Cedars-Sinai and leading a wellness center for LA County, I saw how traditional mental health care often missed culture, connection, and holistic healing. That inspired me to start Worldwide Wellness, where travel, nature, and psychedelic therapy come together for deeper healing.

Healing Starts with You, But It Doesn’t Stop There

Today, my work extends beyond individual care. I am dedicated to training the next generation of psychiatrists, advocating for racial equity in psychedelic medicine, and creating spaces for healing that honor the mind, body, and spirit. Whether through clinical practice, research, or community organizing, my mission remains the same: to ensure mental health care is inclusive, transformative, and deeply rooted in the needs of each individual.

"Everything you are seeking is also seeking you."

A few fun facts!

01.

I started a floating rehab center, because it’s pretty hard to get drugs or alcohol when you’re on a boat, thousands of miles from home. Surrounded by open ocean and immersed in nature, the setting itself became part of the healing. Therapy was surfing or scuba diving, depending on the waves. We experienced the peace of life on the water and were nourished by the sea with simple luxuries like daily fresh sashimi.

02.

I lived through a major earthquake while staying with friends in Nepal, a time marked by uncertainty, resilience, and quiet connection. We shared what we could, often without words, just gestures and presence. After volunteering with medical relief efforts, I eventually caught a ride home in the belly of an Australian cargo plane, carrying with me deep gratitude and a new understanding of human strength and solidarity.

03.

I’ve lived in treehouses more than once, first in the forests of Cambodia, where we came and went by zip line. Later, in Topanga, where the treehouse was kept by a wild-eyed man with a scraggy white beard who insisted, nonstop, that we all invest in a new digital currency called “Bitcoin.” This was back in 2010… and yes, I wish I had listened. Turns out, some hippies are actually wizards in disguise.

Discover your path toward feeling wholeness

I offer psychiatry that blends holistic, nature-based, and psychedelic-assisted care, grounded in cultural humility, accessibility, and connection to the ecosystems around us. We specialize in stubborn depression, ADHD, and major life transitions across all genders, while addressing climate anxiety, political stress, and offering ketamine treatment, integration support, and complementary therapies like Nature Rx, Reiki, and somatic work. This is care that goes beyond symptoms; it’s about restoring connection to self, others, and the world you live in.
